Our Live & Learn Program Introduction

nLive promotes the empowerment of our community through upskilling and cross-skilling based on individual strengths.
Our Program operates in the Glen Eira area and provides a variety of experiences and things to learn via in-home services and from a multi-purpose shop/dwelling in Glen Huntly (Victoria, AU).

Foundational Skills
Every week, most days

Our Live & Learn Program builds from foundational skills

Our Live and Learn – Foundations program typically suits people that are interested in learning or improving skills and are interested in living in better harmony with the environment. Many prior participants have been fresh out of home or school or are new to Australia.

You could start with the basics of learning including:

  • Living to a routine/schedule
  • Care for our environment – Foundation
    • Waste management, flora & fauna (Plant, Pets and pests)
  • Cleaning – Foundation (Levels: Basic personal hygiene and common household)
  • Cooking – Foundation (Levels: Basic up to Kitchen Hand)
  • Home economics and personal management instruction
    • Instruction in diet, exercise, and lifestyle factors
  • Home computing and keyboard skill instruction
    • Tech & cyber security skills/practices – Foundational
  • Social and interpersonal skill training
    • Games & Crafts
    • Customer service

You can choose anything you are interested in or opt to learn everything.

Intermediate Skills
Most week days

Intermediate Skills - By Schedule/Appointment

Our Intermediate skills program typically suits people that have already completed some or all of our foundational trainings; or for those that already have significant life experience, confidence and capability. Each skill/activity is typically performed with initial instruction and monitoring with a view to fostering capability, confidence, independence and autonomy where practical.
Intermediate skills include:

  • Study skill, career development, and job search training
  • Survival experiences, skills and training (including independence and resilience through excursions such as hiking, camping etc)
  • Running/Operating a household and/or AirBnb
  • Hospitality (Kitchen Hand, Point of Sale, Barista)
  • Advanced cleaning including chemical handling and sanitization (AirBnB Enhanced Clean / Food Business Sanitisation)
  • Care for our environment – Intermediate
    • Easy to intermediate eco-responsible changes for homes and small businesses
    • 2nd-hand goods processing (Abandoned/Road side & donated etc)
    • Fauna care (basic triage, isolation, lost pets, wildlife shelter)
  • Running/operating our shop (Part 1)
  • Public speaking training
  • Intermediate cyber-security, computer and tech skills
  • NDIS support, care and education program (for those interested in providing care to NDIS participants)
    • Supporting people in need and people with disabilities

Our Kids Programs are a lot of fun. Activities may vary day by day and can include things like:
Arts and Crafts (Tracing / Drawing / Painting / Clay making etc)
Puzzles & Building Games
Traditional Games: Drafts, Checkers etc.
Console and Retro Games (Computer/PS4/Xbox 360 Games (up to 4 Players))
Music, Dance and Rhythm

All Kids to go back home

Pickup your kids! We will usually ensure you kids are packed and have a story read or a short video so they are all ready to go.
NOTE: If you want us to care for your child/ren over this period, you will need to ensure you specifically arrange it by appointment, pay for it in advance and provide whatever food and drink needs they have.

From portafilter to knock box, knowing how to use, clean and care for each part is essential.

Black Coffee

There is a balance between the coarseness of the grind and your tamping (packing) technique. See and understand how big a difference contact time, extraction and flow rate makes to a good or bad cuppa.

Milk Techniques

Bonus Overtime?

IF the venue and team have time, you may be welcome to remain a little longer to practice for a small additional fee. This will be announced on the day. It should not be expected – but we love it when it happens 🙂
